Renegade is the 2-1 morning line favorite for the 2026 Belmont Stakes after drawing post 4 in Monday's post position draw at Saratoga Race Course. Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo, at 9-2, drew the outside post 9.
A nine-horse field will run Saturday in the 158th Belmont Stakes, the final jewel of the Triple Crown.
But there will be no Triple Crown winner this year. Golden Tempo skipped the Preakness, where Napoleon Solo won at Laurel Park on May 16. Trainer Cherie DeVaux opted to bring her Derby winner to Saratoga with fresh legs off five weeks of rest. That’s the same path Sovereignty took to win the Belmont in 2025.
Bill Mott returns to the Belmont with Chief Wallabee, looking for back-to-back wins after Sovereignty last year. Chad Brown sends out three horses: Ottinho, Emerging Market and Growth Wquity.
DeVaux said the outside draw works for Golden Tempo.
"It's kind of the same as the Derby," she said. "The field can go out ahead of him and he'll just find himself at the back of the pack early in the race."
Here is the full Belmont Stakes field, post positions and morning line odds.

The 158th Belmont Stakes runs Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Spring, New York for the third straight year. Belmont Park is under construction. The race will be run at 1 ¼ miles rather than the traditional 1 ½ miles.
