Former Belmont forward Drew Scharnowski has committed to Duke. He announced his decision April 19 on social media.

Scharnowski is a 6-foot-9 redshirt sophomore from Burlington, Illinois. He was among Belmont's best defenders in the 2025-26 season and averaged 10.5 points while shooting 68.3% from the field. Scharnowski also averaged 6.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 blocked shots per game.

He started in 24 of the Bruins' 32 games and scored 17 times in double figures.

Scharnowski helped lead Belmont to the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season championship and a 26-6 record. He posted four double-doubles.

Evan Bradds, who was an assistant at Duke last season, was hired to replace Casey Alexander as Belmont's coach on March 19.

Scharnowski became the third player to transfer from Belmont after the 2025-26 season. Shooting guard Tyler Lundblade transferred to Tennessee, and power forward Brigham Rogers transferred to Murray State.

The Bruins added Ethan Sage, a wing who transferred from Pittsburgh.
