I like the Matt Schaub hiring for the Cards QB Coach. He has not been coaching but was an NFL qb for 17 season and made the Pro Bowl 2 times. I think having a vet with so much experience is better than some of these qb coaches that never played the game. The Cards have failed miserably in developing qbs and with LeFleur and Schaub IMO this is good news.

"Schaub, who played for the Texans from 2007 to 2013, is expected to focus on developing the quarterback room and potentially influencing the team's future quarterback decisions. His experience and expertise in the NFL coaching field will be valuable as the Cardinals aim to elevate their offensive game."

In most spots the best coaches are rarely the superstars.

Average performers have not only have to learn what to do, they also have to understand the process of leaning in a way 'naturals' never do'.

One of the best 5th Dans I worked with sucked at teaching because when he was coming up somebody showed him a move and he just did it, he didn't have the hard graft of learning most of us have. That process means you get a better teacher.

Those who can, do.
Those who cant, teach.

Generally true...because as you say, those who cant had to put a lot of effort into learning how while those who can just do it.

I see Schaub as a good mix. He had talent. He also had skills. His career path experience enough ups and downs where I am sure he tried nearly everything to get "IT" back... that time of suffrage should make him well qualified to identify issues in a young player that need to be corrected.
