The Chicago Bears have selected Michigan State offensive guard Luke Newman with the 195th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. This selection was acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams, where Chicago traded back from the 148th overall pick.

Newman spent three seasons at left tackle for Holy Cross before transferring to Michigan State, where he started 12 games at left guard in 2024. He brings versatility at tackle and guard, as well as depth to Chicago's offensive line.

Here's what NFL.com's Lance Zierlein had to say about Newman: "Newman is a competitive zone-scheme guard with below-average power by NFL standards. He plays with adequate foot quickness to mirror his gaps but his lunging and wide hands need to be corrected. Holes in his technique will be exploited by NFL talent and he might not have enough runway to get them corrected with more coaching."

More to come.
