The Chicago Bears were back at Halas Hall for the second practice of mandatory minicamp on Wednesday, which marks the final stretch of the offseason program before a summer break.

The Bears are in a much better place this offseason compared to last when they were learning Ben Johnson and Dennis Allen's respective schemes, which made for more sloppy output. While there's more comfortability, these non-padded practices continue to provide opportunities for growth and laying the foundation for the 2026 season.

According to the media in attendance, the second day of minicamp featured some more defensive highlights, as well as quarterback Caleb Williams having a strong showing. After Jaylon Johnson's two-interception day on Tuesday, it was free-agent addition safety Coby Bryant who made a strong impression with a pick of Williams. There were some notable injury updates, as well, both encouraging and discouraging on Day 2.

Here are some observations, from media members in attendance, following Wednesday's minicamp practice:

Observations from Day 2 of Bears mandatory minicamp

Day 2 of Bears minicamp is complete. Some highlights.

- A clean 7-on-7 drill for Caleb Williams. Nothing but completions. A lot of quick game.

- S Coby Bryant hand an INT in a team period

- Williams threw a TD to Kalif Raymond earlier in the team period. Nice play, too.

Day 2 of Bears minicamp just wrapped. Another scorcher. Some observations:
-Jedrick Wills Jr. was back today running with the 3s at left tackle
-Still no Kyler Gordon. D'Marco Jackson and Coleman Bennett, who left practice early Tuesday, were not there as well.
-Bears did a 27…

Day two of Bears minicamp is in the books. Tyrique Stevenson was back on the field while D’Marco Jackson was not. Coby Bryant had a nice interception during two-minute. Dillon Thieneman played some first team. pic.twitter.com/aovhzDVG9H

Bears CB Tyrique Stevenson was back at practice, so no injury worries there. LB D’Marco Jackson exited early yesterday and was not on the field today.

Safety Dillon Thieneman took a few reps with the first-team defense. First time we’ve seen that.
