Every Chicago Bears fan in the world was upset when the team didn't land Maxx Crosby during the offseason.

Crosby has been among the best players in the NFL in recent years, so seeing him end up with the Baltimore Ravens only to have the Ravens back out of the trade was viewed as a major disappointment among fans.

However, a recent report from Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk suggests it's not crazy to think Crosby could eventually be back on the trade market. If that does happen, this could be ideal for Chicago, as it could give the organization another chance to land a superstar-caliber player.

“Not necessarily before the season, but once the season starts, if the Raiders struggle. Because they’ve already stretched the rubber band to the point of trading him. And that was at a time when people were concerned about the health of his knee.

“He’s cleared. He’s back. Now, whether he’s got five more years in that knee is a different issue. But, if they aren’t playing well and they understand that Maxx Crosby isn’t going to be part of the long-term solution and they could get value for him,” Florio said.

This would be somewhat perfect timing for the Bears, as they would get to see whether it even makes sense to trade for Crosby at that point.

Say Chicago dealt with some injuries; moving assets for him at that point wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. At the same time, if the Bears play as well as we all think they can and they don't deal with any injuries, there's reason to believe Crosby would be the perfect target.
