The Chicago Bears are searching for a new offensive coordinator following Declan Doyle's hiring by the Baltimore Ravens, and there are plenty of intriguing options both in-house and around the NFL.

The Bears so far have requested interviews with Arizona Cardinals passing game coordinator Connor Senger and Cincinnati Bengals wide receivers coach Troy Walters (who declined the request) for their offensive coordinator vacancy, but they could look internally to promote from within. According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Bears passing game coordinator Press Taylor is emerging as a potenital candidate for offensive coordinator.

"In the building, if there is an option, Press Taylor is considered to be an offensive coordinator candidate and has done an excellent job in several stops," Rapoport said. "Certainly someone Ben Johnson will consider."

Before joining Johnson's staff, Taylor served as the offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars (2022-24). He also worked his way up the ladder with the Philadelphia Eagles getting his start as an offensive quality control coach (2013-15) and receiving promotions to assistant quarterbacks coach (2016-17) to quarterbacks coach (2018-20) and passing game coordinator (2020). Taylor also served as a senior offensive assistant with the Indianapolis Colts for a season (2021).

A coaching veteran in NFL circles since 2013, Taylor most recently served as the offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars since 2022 and now moves into a smaller role on Ben Johnson's staff.

Some other potential in-house options for Chicago include quarterbacks coach J.T. Barrett, wide receivers coach/assistant head coach and tight ends coach Jim Dray.
