Bayern Munich is slowly coming back together after the summer break with the World Cup. Youth players initially filled the squad before the senior players slowly trickled in, and one of them stood out for head coach Vincent Kompany:

Striker Bastian Assomo (16) has impressed Vincent Kompany. The German-Cameroonian made a strong impression right from his first pre-season training session. Kompany has been paying close attention to him, offering him advice on his positioning and even joining in the session defending against him in one of the drills. Assomo is 1.90 meter tall – his strengths are his finishing, and agility despite his powerful build. The 16-year-old is currently focusing on refining his technique. He is mainly planned for FCB II in the coming season, but has trained several times with the first team, where he left a good impression on Kompany.
