After a season spend battling back from the physical, emotional, and mental effects of the devastating injury he suffered at the Club World Cup, Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala needed something positive to happen and something to build off of.
Enter St. Pauli.
Musiala was able to score the game’s first goal on a stellar run and header, which finished an incredible cross from Konrad Laimer. Ultimately, Bayern Munich would go on to win 5-0 and Musiala was the star that the fans voted on as having the best game:

Musiala also slid a perfect pass to Nicolas Jackson, who scored to make it 4-0 in the 65th minute. The assist was the icing on the cake of Musiala’s strong performance.
Most importantly, this kind of showing could give Musiala some confidence. The youngster still has a way to go in his journey to full health, but this was a very positive step in the right direction.
