Welcome to the FC Bayern Campus Round Up, where the matches of Bayern Munich’s U-23, U-19 and U-17 squads are recapped, line ups are provided and the highlights to the matches are hyperlinked on top of their respective score line. The U-23’s season has not started yet, therefore their match was a friendly and no official highlights were provided. Meanwhile, the U-17s did not play. Remember, to watch highlights you need to have an account on the website but do not need to spend any money.
Information on the U-23, U-19 and U-17 matches is provided by the official FC Bayern website here and here, respectively. If you wish to learn more about the format of the U-17 and U-19’s youth leagues and what is at stake, you can find more info here. Additionally, none of these matches can be viewed in full length without an FCBayernTV subscription. Without further ado, here is the round up:

After a poor loss to Kaiserslautern’s U-19s in the opening match of the new phase last week, Bayern made up for it with a big win against Hannover’s U-19s. It was a game that could have honestly yielded double the amount of goals it did, with both teams creating big chances and perhaps defending a little naïvely.
Bayern opened the scoring through one of those modern corners that occupy the six yard box, with David Santos Daiber putting the ball in. Mike doubled the lead through a bizarre goal, missing the ball once but still managing to trick the defender enough with this “fake shot” to get a second bite at the cherry and put in the back of the net. Hannover would win a penalty and miss, Bayern would be denied a penalty and both goalkeepers made very good saves before half-time. The visitors cut the deficit with a clever long shot but some late counter attacks helped the Bavarians stretch the lead and put a lot of gloss on the score line.
This win takes Bayern to fourth in the table. The team’s next game will be against bottom of the table Berliner AK on February 22.
