Bayern Munich appealing Luis Díaz suspension

Sky Germany journalist Kerry Hau filed a report stating that Bayern Munich is appealing the controversial suspension to Luis Díaz after the winger was booked for two yellow cards during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen.

The Colombian star was sent off for diving, but referee Christian Dingert admitted he made a mistake with the call as he reviewed it after the match:

Exclusive: FC Bayern filed an objection on Sunday against Luis Díaz’s suspension at the DFB sports court! The club confirmed this upon request.

The performance in Leverkusen was the culmination of a phase in which we were repeatedly confronted with questionable decisions. Whether at HSV, in Dortmund or in Leverkusen – there were just repeatedly controversial scenes that often went against us. The DFB is called upon to improve the level of performance of its referees. That Christian Dingert admits his mistake is honorable, but that alone doesn’t help us.”

A challenge to the ruling might or might not be successful, but the Bavarians are clearly not going to let this one go down without a fight.
