Barcelona have reportedly finally reached agreement with Manchester City over a transfer for midfielder Rodri.

The two clubs have in negotiations over a deal for the World Cup winner for a little while and he’s now been given the green light to head to Barcelona.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the transfer has been agreed following Barcelona’s latest bid to Manchester City which is believed to have been for an amount exceeding 70 million euros in total.

Rodri returned to Manchester City at the end of last week after winning the World Cup but was not part of the squad for Sunday’s Community Shield defeat to Arsenal in Cardiff.

The midfielder is now set to say his goodbyes to City and head for Catalunya to link up with a host of Spain team-mates and Barcelona boss Hansi Flick.

Barcelona are hoping the transfer can be completed in time for Rodri to be introduced to fans at the Gamper Trophy on Wednesday. Joao Cancelo may also be in attendance after agreeing to terminate his contract to Al-Hilal before signing for Barcelona for a third time.
