Need to take 2 out of 3 against the Orioles after the shellacking the team took in LA. That's a tall order though and I expect Torey to have even a bigger "deer in the headlights" look this weekend. One can always be optimistic before the series starts. Come on, DBacks! Get that last wild card!

I must admit I've been one of the guys who was wondering WHY was Davies pitching for the Dbacks. I missed out on the first inning or so on ESPN'S Gamecast, but followed after that until about the 7th or 8th inning or so. Anyway, at no time did it show any of his pitches hitting the 90mph mark. The fastest speed I saw was 88 mph. It didn't matter if it was a four seam fb, sinker, slider or whatever the pitch was. 87-88 mph was it.
I kept thinking to myself, why is he even pitching for us, can't throw at least 90mph. But, after he put up 5 consecutive innings of zeros on the board against a team with a record better than the Dodgers who just swept us, I was amazed. He deserves a ton of credit.
Way to go Dbacks, and Zach Davies.

I think it's more like they know they are in a pretty strong union and won't lose their jobs, if MLB brings in electronic umpires...however they will have less responsibility and same pay.
