The Baltimore Ravens continue to reshape their quarterback room, signing veteran passer Skylar Thompson and bringing their total to five signal-callers on the roster.
Thompson, a 2022 seventh-round pick out of Kansas State, did not appear in a game during the 2025 season after suffering a hamstring injury that landed him on injured reserve with the Pittsburgh Steelers in early September. He later signed a reserve/future contract with Pittsburgh in January.
Despite the lost season, Thompson brings prior NFL experience to Baltimore. He has appeared in 10 career games, all with the Miami Dolphins, completing 81 of 138 passes (58.7%) for 721 yards. Thompson has thrown one touchdown pass against three interceptions while averaging 5.2 yards per completion.
The addition signals Baltimore's continued focus on depth and competition at quarterback heading into the latter half of the offseason workouts. While the Ravens' top of the depth chart remains unchanged with Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley, adding a player with in-game experience provides insurance and a developmental option to compete with Pavia and Fagnano as the team evaluates its roster ahead of training camp.
For Thompson, the move represents a fresh opportunity to reestablish himself after an injury setback. With a full offseason to get healthy and compete, he'll look to carve out a role in a crowded quarterback room and extend his NFL career.
