Most def. SK agreed that part of a GM's job description is to put his team in a solid position QB-wise and that a day doesn't pass when he doesn't think about the QB situation. (He then joked that, if he didn't fulfill that mission, he could wind up on the other side of the interview table at NFL Network). It sounds like the Cardinals are sincerely interested in adding a young QB if possible.
I'd rather that young QB be Jimmy G, then one of these unknown QB's who are only a 2nd round talent anyways.
What round was Jimmy G drafted?I'd rather that young QB be Jimmy G, then one of these unknown QB's who are only a 2nd round talent anyways.
There is absolutely no justification for why BA expects the same improvement in Robert as we saw in Humphries.
Humphries was an elite T in college. His play was among the best in the nation. We knew he had great ability in him because he proved it at florida.
Not so with Robert. He was an absolute slug at Ole Miss. He was drafted purely for his athletic talent.
Hump, there was justifiable expectation. Robert is wishful thinking.

I think there was enough cue signs in what I heard from Arians and Keim that they do have a QB in their sights, as they should!

With the exception of Trubinsky and Kizer who else comes from a non spread offense?i also read a quote in a interview yesterday where Arians was talking about QBs coming from the spread not being ready for the NFL, and that fans better be ready for them to sit a year while they learn

As I recall the Cardinal brass have already commented in the past that they were prepared to select a QB in last year's draft; had one of value been available when they were selecting. I think BA even commented one time, that you should try and take a QB every year. So it should come as no surprise that they are even more interested in selecting a QB this year.Exactly. It's good Keim views it this way. I don't think QBOTF should be something to kick further down the road.

That is not to say however, if you have one QB ranked in the top 15 player's of the draft and the second QB on your board you have ranked at, say, #100. Then when your top rated QB gets chosen one or two spots ahead of your #13 pick, that doesn't mean you panic and select the second ranked QB at pick #45.
The Cardinals are definitely wanting to come out of this years draft with a QBOF prospect. Yet, it doesn't necessarily mean that they will select one at all. The draft is all about how it plays out.

Kelly, Mixon and a couple of other red-flaggers present well-known challenges - maybe moreso for us:Most colleges are now running some variation of the spread. I don't think there's a QB in this draft that can play year one other than in an emergency. I don't think BA would shy away from one of these spread guys; look at Logan Thomas. That said you're probably sick of my mentioning Chad Kelly, but he's certainly one of the top non-spread guys.
I would argue Badger has not worked out well yet. He has shown flashes of greatness with mostly injurys so far.Kelly, Mixon and a couple of other red-flaggers present well-known challenges - maybe moreso for us:
The Badger has worked out well for us and so, hopefully, will Nkemdiche. But is there a point where the critical mass of so-called "high maintenence players" overwhelms your locker room & screws up team chemistry - i.e. Have we maxed out our quota?
