Tier 1: The Elite
1. Patrick Mahomes, KC - He's not the GOAT yet, but he's definitely GOAT-shaped.
2. Lamar Jackson, BAL - An absolute unicorn. You should be suspicious of anyone who tries to diminsh his greatness.
3. Josh Allen, BUF - I can't remember a guy who went from meme to MVP the way Allen has the past few years. Made the Other Josh Allen change his name.
4. Joe Burrow, CIN - Kind of the most tenuous member of this tier. If he doesn't make the playoffs this year gets a real "are we sure he's that good?" sticker on him. Fun to watch though.
Tier 2: Franchise QBs
5. Jalen Hurts, PHI - Super Bowl MVP most likely to be featured in the "Is He Elite" conversation for the next five years.
6. Matt Stafford, LAR - Hall of Famer and Super Bowl Champ that Cards fans like to pretend is, like, Kirk Cousins.
7. Justin Herbert, LAC - In some ways he's like What if Marcus Mariota went to a good franchise, but also he's on the cursed Chargers. I believe in Jim Harbaugh.
8. Brock Purdy, SFO - When he has enough career pass attempts to qualify he'll have the highest YPA in the NFL (or something). Purdy probably looks like Daniel Jones with all but five playcallers. But he plays for Kyle Shanhan.
9. Jared Goff, DET - His eyes are too close together so he's always going to choke when it matters.
10. Dak Prescott, DAL - Both overrated and underrated because he plays for Dallas. I look forward to his two-year stint with the Colts starting in 2029.
11. Baker Mayfield, TBB - What a weird journey he's been on. His value is a little inflated for playing in the NFC South but on the other hand can't argue with making and winning in the playoffs.
12. Geno Smith, LVR - Geno Smith had five starts in eight seasons and still found a way to throw for over 4200 yards in two seasons while Kyler has yet to have one. He completed over 70% of his passes last season with a 7.5 YPA with a shakier offensive line than Arizona's.
13. Jordan Love, GBP - It's easy to look at one good season (or half-season) and then project a jump to greatness. A lot of people fell into that trap last season. I kind of expect Love to bounce back next year.
Tier 3: It's the hope that kills you
14. Kyler Murray, ARI - The biggest problem with Kyler is that so many players have risen above him during the course of his brief career. How do you let Geno Smith make you look like a chump, bruh?
15. Trevor Lawrence, JAX - I always thought he was overrated as a prospect. Kind of reminds me of Charmin as a guy who didn't have clear flaws but didn't really have a ton of outstanding qualities, either. The heir apparent to Kirk Cousins or Derek Carr.
16. Tua Tagovailoa, MIA - He lead the NFL in passing two years ago. Empty calorie offense.
Tier 4: Too soon to know for sure
17. Jayden Daniels, WAS - Most rankings will have him much higher, but I have some skepticism because of...
18. C.J. Stroud, HOU - ... Who is another guy who had a good first year and reverted to the mean. He wasn't gonna pass for 4100+ yards and only throw 5 INTs every year forever.
19. Caleb Williams, CHI - I still believe! People who complain about Kliff should look more closely at the mess Caleb Williams got dropped into.
20. Drake Maye, NEP - We just went through a bizarre Mac Jones cycle, so I'm kind of pumping the brakes here.
21. J.J. McCarthy, MIN - I liked him coming out of Michigan. He's in a great situation, but I have to see it from the young kid.
22. Bo Nix, DEN - This old man shows what can happen when you're dropped into a good situation. He's basically older than I am. 3700 yards with 6.7 YPA.
23. Cam Ward, TEN - I think he'll do well. His floor is probably Nix and his ceiling is very high.
24. Michael Penix, ATL - Not much you can take from his three starts, TBH. Kind of dropped into a mess.
25. Bryce Young, CAR - I don't see how he becomes a top 10 QB regardless of situation.
26. Anthony Richardson, IND - I still believe this guy can be more than Jacoby Brisset but it wasn't a great look going to the sideline because he's tired. Kyler just calls a run when he's tired.
Tier 5: Credibly Washed-ish
27. Sam Darnold, SEA - Darnold is two months older than Kyler Murray.
28. Justin Fields, NYJ - Justin Fields is 14 months older than Michael Penix, Jr.
29. Russell Wilson, NYG - Mr. Limited.
Tier 6: Whatever the Browns are doing
30. Joe Flacco, CLE - This is who OurLads has as the top QB in Cleveland. Imagine being a WR who's career is in the hands of 40 year-old Joe Flacco. Is he elite, though?
31. Mason Rudolph, PIT - Rudolph has near 700 career passing attempts and no one remembers any of them. The top Rudolph memory is when he squared up Myles Garrett.
32. Tyler Shough, NO - My guy backed up Justin Herbert at Oregon. Herbert is entering his sixth NFL season. Go Chandler Wolves. You suck Shough.
