Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of midfielder Xaver Schlager on a two-year deal.
The 28-year-old arrives at the City Ground after spending the last four seasons at RB Leipzig and becomes Oliver Glasner’s first signing since he arrived at the club.
The Austria international started all four games in the 2026 World Cup and helped his nation to the knockout stages of the tournament.
Schlager said in a statement on Thursday: “It is a huge honour to join Nottingham Forest, it is a very traditional club with a big history winning two European Cups under Brian Clough.
“I wanted a new challenge and to join a club with good players and I am happy to be reunited with Oliver, who I know from my time at Wolfsburg.”
