The Dallas Renegades still can't find their footing, seeing their losing streak extend to five games.
The Renegades fell 31-24 against the Orlando Storm on Friday night at Phantom Warrior Stadium in Fort Hood. Friday's game was played in Fort Hood as part of the UFL's "Hats Off to Heroes" initiative, where teams honored active service members and veterans.
Dallas (3-5) got out to a quick start against Orlando, owning a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter. Renegades quarterback Austin Reed found receiver Emmanuel Butler for a 3-yard touchdown connection with 11:15 left in the first half. That advantage didn't stick, as Orlando tied things up with a 1-yard rushing touchdown from quarterback Jack Plummer as the halftime break approached.
While the game was a back-and-forth affair, Orlando (6-2) pulled away with second-half rushing touchdowns from Jashaun Corbin and KJ Hamler. Reed and Butler found the end zone again in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough as Dallas ran out of time to tie things up.
Reed led the Renegades' offense with 134 passing yards, three passing touchdowns and an interception. Butler finished the night with three receptions for 21 yards and two touchdowns.
The Renegades are now sixth in the UFL standings. They'll look to bounce back against the Louisville Kings on Sunday, May 24 at Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky.
