Auburn golf standout Jackson Koivun became a two-time winner of Fred Haskins Award on Tuesday.
The Haskins Award, the collegiate golf version of the Heisman award is award to the player of the year in NCAA men's golf. Koivun won the award after picking up six wins during the spring season.
Koivun won the award after his freshman year, joining an exclusive club with Ben Crenshaw, Bobby Clampett and Phil Mickelson. He becomes the only golfer to win multiple Fred Haskins and Ben Hogan awards.
Koivun won the award over Preston Stout, who took home the NCAA individual title on Monday, finishing at 14-under.
"It's just a huge honor to come back after my freshman year and put my name back on the Haskins trophy," Koivun said according to Golfweek. "You just look at those names, you look at any name on this trophy, and they've done so much in the game of golf, whether that's professionally or in other aspects."
Koivun is expected to turn pro after the season wraps up this week with the NCAA Championships, where Auburn is the No. 1 seed for match play. Koivun earned his PGA Tour Card last year at the NCAAs, but decided to return for his junior year.
Koivun has 11 career wins, tied for eighth all-time, after picking up six wins this year. He ended the individual portion of his career with a t-10 finish at the NCAAs.
He has won three straight SEC titles and became the only player to win three straight SEC Player of the Year honors.
