Auburn football bolstered its running back room over the weekend by adding Baylor's premier back, Bryson Washington, from the transfer portal.
Washington led the Bears in rushing last season with 788 yards and six touchdowns on 154 carries in a primarily pass-focused offense. Washington will complement Jeremiah Cobb, who is expected to keep his role as the star back in Auburn's offense after rushing for 969 yards in 12 games last season with 11 starts.
Washington is the second running back to join the Tigers' roster from the transfer portal. Auburn is also bringing in Nykahi Davenport, who trailed only Byrum Brown in the rushing department at USF last season, by rushing for 612 yards and seven touchdowns during the 2026 season. The moves come after Auburn lost Damari Alston and Durell Robinson to the transfer portal.
Auburn's addition of Washington is another key move for improving Auburn's offense ahead of the 2026 season. Alex Golesh and the Tigers' coaching staff have landed two quarterbacks, Byrum Brown and Tristan Ti'a, as well as key receivers and tight ends, including Keshaun Singleton and Jonathan Echols, and talented offensive linemen Stanton Ramil and Joseph Simmons.
