AUBURN — Alex Golesh and his Auburn football staff aren't letting up, adding a fifth commitment to the program's 2027 recruiting class in the past three days on Tuesday, June 2, and making quite the splash in doing so.
Linebacker Isaac McNeil, a consensus four-star prospect and one of the highest-rated players in the state of Alabama, announced his commitment to the Tigers, becoming the second pledge of the day alongside three-star cornerback Aidyn Wiggins.
McNeil's — who picked Auburn over Florida and Georgia — brings the program's class up to 14 commitments, and all but one of those came after the program ended spring practices in mid-April.
A Mobile-area product, McNeil recored 92 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and nine sacks at Vigor High School last fall, while also logging four rushing touchdowns on 10 carries and serving as the team's kicker and punter.
With McNeil's ratings, he serves as a metric-mover for Auburn's class, which went from being a top-25 bunch to top-20 upon his comment, according to 247Sports, ranking 18th nationally. Most notably, Auburn moved up two spots within the SEC's class rankings, going from seventh to fifth.
