AUBURN — The preseason certainty is officially reality, as Auburn baseball second baseman Chris Rembert was selected 51st overall in the second round of the 2026 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday, July 11.

Rembert, a draft-eligible sophomore, was widely viewed as a top-rated prospect in this year's class entering the season, largely projected as a first-round pick. His stock took a slight dip, however, pushing him to the edge of Round One after a year in which he produced less power than his freshman season.

Still, Rembert managed to his for contact despite any lacking power, and he always proved a capable glove at second base, earning freshmen All-American and All-SEC honors in two seasons on the Plains.

  • Career Stats (2025-26): 152 for 442 (.344); 27 doubles; 1 triple; 14 home runs; 92 RBIs; 75 strikeouts; 56 walks; 18 stolen bases (115 games)
    • 2026 (58 games): 80 for 233 (.343); 13 doubles; 1 triple; 4 home runs; 46 RBIs; 39 strikeouts; 19 walks; 12 stolen bases
