Atletico Madrid have issued a response on social media to Real Madrid’s €150 million offer for Barcelona target Julian Alvarez.
Los Colchoneros have already made waves this summer with their social media activity and frustration at the ongoing speculation about Alvarez.
They took aim at Barcelona previously, putting out posts on X about Lamine Yamal, Pedri and Raphinha, and have now issued a withering response to Los Blancos.
Here it goes….
“Official statement with our clarifications regarding the official statement from our neighbors
“Real Madrid 1. They cut out the part of the Pope’s video where he said he was an Atleti fan too.
“2. You must have confused education with gratitude, but to leave no doubt: we don’t thank you for anything.
“3. We neither study nor consider any offer for Julián.
“4. How could we not get along, when you make us laugh even more than Barcelona does.”
Atletico then followed up with another message on X that read: “P.S. Taking advantage of the good relationship with your new president, let’s see if you stop “stealing” players from our Academy. Thanks a lot, @realmadrid.”
Barcelona are still said to be interested in signing Alvarez this summer but reports claim they will not go crazy or try to match Real Madrid’s €150m bid.
