The Atlanta Braves have a lot of questions right now in the outfield, and that's without factoring in someone getting hurt.

One name in particular makes sense, according to TJ French of Heavy.com, and that's Atlanta pursuing a deal with the New York Yankees that would land young outfielder Jasson Dominguez.

In his trade idea, the Braves would acquire Dominguez while sending Sean Murphy and prospect Alex Lodise to New York.

Dominguez was expected to be one of the better players in Major League Baseball the day he made his debut, but he hasn't been able to do so. That doesn't mean he can't figure it out at the highest level, but he isn't that sure of a thing as many were hoping for.

French noted that Dominguez’s role is uncertain heading into the season, which could make him a realistic trade candidate.

“As for the Braves wanting Jasson Dominguez, there have been so many trade speculation rumors surrounding Dominguez this offseason,” French wrote.

One of the biggest factors influencing the rumors about Dominguez is the Yankees’ current roster construction. With several outfielders already competing for playing time, Dominguez will likely begin the year in the minors.

“With the news that he’s likely to start the season in Triple-A due to the crowded Yanks’ outfield, it could be time to cut ties with Dominguez.”

For Atlanta, acquiring Dominguez would represent a risk on potential. The young outfielder has flashed impressive tools and could eventually develop into a middle-of-the-order bat, perhaps even an elite one.
