Third, who do you think are going to be the cross-country runners of the year? One girl and one boy.

Below are the nominees, which have been directly taken from the preseason all-area team list that went out Thursday, July 23. All runners were hand-picked by the coaches.

Preseason: Here are 83 Athens-area high school cross-country runners to watch in 2026

The polls will be open until Friday, July 31, at 5 p.m. and the winners will be announced on Monday, Aug. 10.
