AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (20-24) won 6-3 (BOX SCORE)


Weiss started for Sugar Land and went 4.2 innings allowing 3 runs, 2 earned. The offense got on the board in the 7th on an Unroe RBI double and Johnson sac fly. In the 9th, Biggio homered to tie the game at 3 and force extra innings. The offense rallied in the 10th scoring 3 runs on a Strahm RBI single, a run on an error and a Biggio RBI single. The pen was great tossing 5.1 scoreless innings as they closed out the 6-3 win.

Note: Santa has a 1.45 ERA this season.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (17-21) won 9-4 (BOX SCORE)


Gillis got the start and was solid going 5 innings and allowing 3 runs, 2 earned. The offense got on the board in the 4th inning on a Holt sac fly. The offense rallied in the 5th inning scoring 7 runs on a Guillemette RBI single, a run on an error, Spence RBI double, Bush single, Holy RBI single and Austin 2 run home run. Guillemette added another run in the 8th on an RBI single. McLoughlin closed it out with 2 scoreless innings as the Hooks won 9-4.

Note: Encarnacion is hitting .280 this season.


A+: Asheville Tourists (9-29) lost 10-5 (BOX SCORE)


Asheville got on the board in the first inning on a Nunez 2 run single. Howard got the start and went 5 innings allowing 6 runs. Asheville got 2 runs back in the 7th inning on a Schiavone 2 run double. Carr relieved Howard and went 4 innings allowing 4 runs. The offense got a run in the 8th inning on a Trujillo RBI single but that was it as Asheville fell 10-5.

Note: Schiavone has a 1.247 OPS this season.


A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (17-21) won 9-5 (BOX SCORE)


The Woodpeckers got on the board in the first inning on an Alvarez sac fly. Forcucci got the start and went 2 innings allowing 1 run, though he walked 5. The offense tied it up in the 4th scoring on a run on a wild pitch. The offense got 2 runs in the 5th on an Alvarez 2 run home run. After the Shorebirds took the lead, the offense tied it in the 6th on a Diaz RBI double. Wells relieved Forcucci and went 3 innings allowing 4 runs. The game went to the 9th inning tied but the Woodpeckers rallied for 4 runs on a Wakefield RBI single, Vasquez sac fly, Diaz walk and a run scoring on an error. MacRae was solid tossing 4 scoreless innings in relief as he closed out the 9-5 win.

Note: Salas has a .834 OPS this season in Single-A.
