AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (29-38) won 4-3 (BOX SCORE)


Sugar Land got the scoring started in the second inning on an Unroe RBI single and Dezenzo walk. After the River Cats scored 2 runs in the 3rd to tie it, Sugar Land scored 2 runs in the 7th to take the lead on Cole and Ferreras RBI singles. Hendrickson got the start and went 7 innings allowing 3 runs with 5 strikeouts. The pen allowed one run but held on for the 4-3 win.

Note: Ferreras is hitting .419 in Triple-A.


AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (27-35) won 17-8 (BOX SCORE)


The Hooks got on the board in the first inning scoring 3 runs on a Sullivan RBI single and 2 runs on an error. They got another run in the 2nd inning on a fielder’s choice. Hertzler got the start making his Double-A debut and went 5 innings allowing 1 run while striking out 2. The offense added 2 more runs in the 4th on an Austin RBI double and Sullivan RBI single. In the 5th, Brutcher connected on a 2 run double. The offense blew it open in the 7th scoring 4 runs on a Brutcher RBI single, Encarnacion RBI single, Spence sac fly and Austin RBI double. They added 4 more runs in the 8th on a Brutcher 2 run double, Biggers RBI single and Spence RBI single. The pen allowed some runs late but held on as the Hooks won 17-8.

Note: Brutcher is hitting .289 in Double-A.


A+: Asheville Tourists (16-43) lost 6-5 (BOX SCORE)


Smith got the start for Asheville and allowed 2 runs over 2.2 innings. The bullpen kept the Spartanburgers at bay and in the 8th inning Asheville tied it on an Ochoa 2 run single. In the 9th, Asheville took the lead scoring 3 runs on a Walker groundout and Thomas 2 run single. Martich came on for the bottom of the 9th but struggled allowing 4 runs including a walk-off 3 run home run as Asheville fell 6-5.

Note: Thomas is hitting .294 this season.
