Step one of a potential transfer for Bayern Munich defensive midfielder João Palhinha to Aston Villa is complete.
The Portuguese 31-year-old has agreed to personal terms with the English club, who is reportedly very eager to add some depth to its midfield group.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano captured the news in an X post:
Personal terms were always going to be the easy part of this deal. Where it gets difficult is with the transfer fee. Rumors are floating that Bayern Munich could want as much as €25 million to €30 million for the midfielder. That might be an issue
Tottenham Hotspur allegedly balked at paying that much, but the Bavarians did not waver on their demands. Will that still be the case with Aston Villa?
