Let’s face it; Ashton Jeanty’s rookie season didn’t go quite as expected.
Big immediate things were anticipated from the Boise State running back when the Las Vegas Raiders selected him with the No. 6 overall draft pick in 2025.
Yet, Jeanty had his struggles at times. Yes, his offensive coaching staff and his offensvie line didn’t do him many favors, but Jeanty simply didn;t make a huge imapct.
Yet, he did flash often and he did shine in a key area that shows he has excellent natural skills as a running back. Per a recent X post by NFL Researcher, Jeanty had 377 rushing yards after forcing missed tackles. It was the seventh highest amount in the NFL and the most among all rookies.
Most rush yards after forcing a missed tackle in 2025, per @NextGenStats:
1. Jonathan Taylor – 635
2. De’Von Achane – 612
3. Bijan Robinson – 605
4. Derrick Henry – 482
5. James Cook – 415
6. Kyren Williams – 395
7. Ashton Jeanty – 377

Jeanty finished with 975 rushing yards as a rookie. Thus, 38.6 percent of his total rushing yards came after forcing missed tackles. That is something to build upon going into this season/
