Ashland's Kennedy Lacey named District 6 Player of the Year

WILLARD - She has been one of the most consistent players around on one of the most consistent teams in the area and District 6 voters recognized that over the weekend.

Ashland junior Kennedy Lacey was named player of the year in Division II/Division III currently averaging 22.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 3.1 steals, 0.5 blocks per game entering the postseason.

Senior Camryn Cox (9.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 2.6 steals, 1.8 blocks) earned first team honors as well, classmate Madison Hoffman (14.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.8 steals) and junior Cienna Steury (7.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.7 steals) landed on the second team.

Renee Holt was named coach of the year after leading the Lady Arrows to back-to-back Ohio Cardinal Conference titles going undefeated in league play for the first time.

In Division VI, seniors Valery Henry of New London (11.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.3 steals) and Tori Kidney of Crestview (12.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.8 steals) were selected to the first team. Second teamers include New London seniors Raeann Mitchell (7.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.0 steals) and Gracie Thomas (9.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.1 steals) along with South Central senior Emily Lamoreaux (9.5 points). And Crestview sophomore Shelby Bays (7.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 3.2 steals, 1.3 blocks) was an honorable mention.
