Friday was all about the return of Gerrit Cole, whose 14-month recovery and ramp-up after Tommy John surgery culminated with a much-anticipated start in the Bronx.

But more star-powered reinforcements could soon be joining Cole with the Yankees, too.

Ahead of Friday night’s series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays, manager Aaron Boone shared the latest plans for Jasson Domínguez (shoulder) and Giancarlo Stanton (calf) amid their respective injury rehabs.

“Dominguez is doing more tee-and-toss today,” Boone said.

“The hope is, when we go on the [six-game road trip starting Monday], he’ll start to get ramped up, baseball activity, and then by the time we’re at the back end of the trip or home, he’s ready to play games. That’s the hope, and that’s kind of how he’s trending.”

Domínguez has not played since May 7, when a scary collision into the left-field wall at Yankee Stadium left the 23-year-old with a left shoulder AC joint sprain.

The switch-hitter is batting .200 with a home run, four RBI and a .617 OPS in nine major-league games this season.

Stanton, meanwhile, is not expected to join the Yankees on their upcoming trips to Kansas City and Sacramento, but Boone said the slugger was set to be examined early next week and could be cleared to begin running.

The 36-year-old Stanton, who last played on April 24, may not require a rehab assignment for his right calf strain.

“The good thing is it hasn’t prevented him from hitting every single day, so he’s been hitting [off of the] Trajekt [machine] and getting at-bats every single day,” Boone said.

“He’s obviously different than the position player that you want to see get six, seven, eight innings in the field. So more with him, as long as he’s continuing to get his at-bats … once he’s able to really run, then we’ll go.”

Stanton is hitting .256 with three home runs, 14 RBI and a .724 OPS in 24 games this season.

The Yankees entered Friday with a 30-21 record, despite navigating injuries throughout the season’s first two months.

Speedy shortstop José Caballero also returned Friday after a 10-day stint on the IL due to a fractured right middle finger.

The Yankees believe they avoided a long-term injury with left-hander Max Fried (left elbow bone bruise), though his timeline to return remains undetermined. Fried is 4-3 with a 3.21 ERA in 10 starts.

Right-hander Clarke Schmidt, who underwent an internal brace procedure on the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow last July, is also a candidate to return in the season’s second half.

Schmidt, 30, was 4-4 with a 3.32 ERA before undergoing the operation last summer.

CRUZ OPTIONED

To make room on the roster for Cole, rookie reliever Yovanny Cruz was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after Thursday night’s game.

The flame-throwing Cruz, 26, made his MLB debut this week and struck out three in 2.1 innings over two appearances without allowing an earned run.
