It's been a topsy turvey week in the NFL. Crazy games and crazy finishes.

Exactly, because the quality of football sucks and hence the mediocre results... just keep supporting the Cardinals, we could actually still have a shot at the Super Bowl and that is a very real scenario :)

I'm also in a Perfect 16 league and thank goodness Green Bay pulled it out in overtime or all six of my tickets would have ended today. Still got 2 alive.

Under 1min, i think, an offensive penalty results in a 10sec run off. I'm not sure if it's all penalties or just things like false starts, holding... Penalties at the line.

This was an even more obscure rule. If an officials' call stops the clock in the last minute there is an automatic 10 second runoff. Could the Lions have lined up & spiked the ball in 8 seconds, assuming the initial call had been down at the half yard line? That seems doubtful, but it is tough to lose a game on a runoff.

I can't stand the 10 second run-off rule. I also can't stand that the offense can commit a false start and then go back to the huddle and run the clock down another 30 seconds...teams can take a whole minute off the clock running one play with a 5 yard penalty. I would use that as a strategy late in games with the lead.

Teams are averaging 24.4 offensive PPG in Wk3. No other Wk3 since at least ’01 is >21.9. The avg for all pts (25.1) is also tops since then.

I don't get this one? Wouldn't the clock stop with the penalty and not start until the next snap?

The play clock is restarted, the game clock is restarted and the offense goes back to the huddle...another 30 seconds goes off the clock.
