Tillman brings more than 30 years of experience in education, coaching and athletic administration. During his career, he has served as athletic director at Rutherford, Vernon, Wewahitchka and Bozeman. Most recently, he served as a teacher at Rosenwald High School.

Smith, a Bay District Schools educator and coach, has built a diverse background since joining the district in 2018. She has served as a physical education teacher, ESE teacher, assistant softball coach and head girls soccer coach. Smith recently earned a master’s degree in athletic coaching from Florida State University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. She also completed an internship under a high school athletic director to prepare for a leadership role in athletic administration.

“Arnold High School has long been recognized as the flagship athletic program in Bay County, and I am thrilled to welcome Loren Tillman and Amber Smith to lead us into our next chapter,” Principal Dr. Todd Mitchell said. “Coach Tillman brings a wealth of experience, proven leadership and deep roots in our community, while Amber represents the passion, innovation and commitment to student-athletes that will sustain excellence for years to come. Together, they are the right team to build upon our proud tradition and ensure the future of Arnold athletics remains bright.”

School officials said Tillman’s leadership experience, combined with Smith’s energy and connection to student-athletes, will help support continued success across Arnold’s athletic programs.

Arnold officials said they look forward to the leadership, vision and dedication the pair will bring as they guide the Marlins into the future.
