HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KLRT) – Less than 10 days until the start of the season for the Arkansas Diamonds, the arena football team that was formerly known as the Hot Springs Wiseguys.

The players are ready for their first game next Friday at home against the St. Joe Goats.

For them, it’s all about building off that impressive inaugural season where they finished second in the Arena League and made it to the playoffs, going all the way to the championship game where they fell to Duluth Harbor.

This year, the team wants to make it that far again, only this time with a different outcome, but it all starts with game one.

“Seeing who can adapt, take on coaching, and be coachable and adapt fast in the high-intensity environment. Now we’re getting to the end of that, and now we’re seeing the mental part, who actually can take on the play load in the playbook,” head coach Bones Bagaunte said.

“Being able to have the opportunity to come out here, meet a bunch of great guys, network with them as well. And there’s just so much to learn from everyone as well. Just because everybody’s had such different walks of life. So everybody’s been able to pick up a lot of different skills and tricks and things like that,” wide receiver and safety Tyler Littlejohn said.

The Diamonds’ first game is on May 29th at 7:05 p.m. against the St. Joseph Goats in Bank OZK Arena.
