No heroics in the field or on the bases, A.J. It's just not worth it.

Now that we discovered Goldy 2.0, it will be nice to have them both in the lineup.

If AJ can pick up where he left off he's a better addition than anything available on the trade market.

I hope Torey doesn't consider all five or six outfielders equal. They are obviously not equal!

Peralta in LF, Pollock in CF and Souza in RF are obviously our primary OF's. With Jay as #1 backup at all three positions. And Dyson #2 and our top pinch-runner.

It sounds like Owings, who is eligible to be sent down, could be the one to go.

I wonder if we'll ever see a starting lineup of Peralta/Goldy/Lamb/Pollock/Souza at one time develop into a Murderers Row or if there will always be one or two held out.

Oh well, maybe in the World Series.

Diamondbacks' Jarrod Dyson: Not yet running bases
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Dyson (groin) resumed baseball activities over the weekend, but has yet to incorporate baserunning into his workouts, the Associated Press reports.

Considering that Dyson's skill set is predicated on speed, his involvement in baserunning drills without restriction will be the main hurdle he'll need to clear before the Diamondbacks entertain bringing him back from the 10-day disabled list. The 33-year-old will be ticketed for a backup role in the outfield once he's back up to full speed.

And best-in-the-league pinch runner in late innings.

Diamondbacks' Silvino Bracho: Sent down to Triple-A
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bracho was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Monday.

Bracho was removed from the roster to make room for T.J. McFarland (neck), who was activated from the 10-day disabled list. His performances suggest he could return soon, as he's recorded an excellent 2.04 ERA in 17.2 major-league innings this season. He's struck out a third of the batters he's faced while walking just 7.3 percent.

Diamondbacks' Deven Marrero: Resumes workouts
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Marrero (oblique) has accelerated his workouts but hasn't been cleared to begin a minor-league rehab assignment, the Associated Press reports.

Marrero has been on the shelf since June 27 with the left oblique strain. The Diamondbacks likely aren't eager to rush Marrero back to the big club, especially with two capable utility options already on hand in Daniel Descalso and Chris Owings.

There really is no need for a very weak hitting infield backup who, it seems, plays only 3B. Having Owings now playing 3B makes Marrero superfluous.
