The Arizona Cardinals open training camp on Wednesday, July 22, and there are a number of questions. One involves their two top rookies — running back Jeremiyah Love and guard Chase Bisontis.
When will they get into the starting lineup?
Love was drafted third overall, the highest-drafted running back since Saquon Barkley was taken second overall in 2018. Bisontis was selected in the second round, No. 34 overall.
While both figure to be starters in 2026, neither ran with the first-team offense in OTAs and minicamp.
Tyler Allgeier, one of the Cardinals' bigger moves in free agency, was the No. 1 running back, and Isaiah Adams, who was the starting right guard to end the last two seasons, was the No. 1 right guard. Love and Bisontis got work with the second team.
Love, whether or not he is named the starter, will figure into the Cardinals' offense. He and Allgeier will both play. It will be a matter of what role they have.
Bisontis will need to beat out Adams to play. It is expected to happen, but at what point in camp and the preseason will the reps switch?
It will be something to watch.
