The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.
Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2025, questions they face and their roster outlook.
Here is wide receiver Xavier Weaver.
Weaver enters his third NFL season and third with the Cardinals. He came into the league as an undrafted rookie out of Colorado in 2024. He made the active roster out of training camp and appeared it two games in 2024 as a rookie, playing 57 offensive snaps.
In 2025, he played in 10 games, catching seven passes for 67 yards. He also returned two kicks, averaging 25.5 yards. He played 272 snaps on offense and 23 on special teams.
Weaver enters the final year of his three-year rookie contract and will make $1.08 million if he makes the roster. He will be a restricted free agent in 2027. His cap hit will be $1.09 million.
Weaver is on the roster bubble, as he has been each year. The receiver room has three or four spots likely locked up, so he will have to battle to make the team. After two seasons with little production and a new coaching staff, he has a tough road to the roster.
