The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.
Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2025, questions they face and their roster outlook.
Here is receiver Kendrick Bourne.
Bourne enters his 10th NFL season and his first with the Cardinals. He entered the NFL in 2017 as a rookie free agent with the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the Niners for three years, followed by four for the New England Patriots and then last season back with the 49ers.
He has 313 career receptions for 4,008 yards, and his best season was in 2021 in New England, when he caught 55 passes for 800 yards and five touchdowns.
He is close with Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur from their time together with the 49ers, as LaFleur was the passing game coordinator for Bourne's three seasons with the Niners and Bourne's position coach for his first two years.
Last season, he had 37 catches for 557 yards.
Bourne was overjoyed to sign with the Cardinals and reunite with LaFleur. He got a two-year contract worth nearly $10 million. He received $4.5 million in a signing bonus and is scheduled for a fully guaranteed $2 million salary in 2026. He can also earn up to $510,000 in per-game roster bonuses. He will count almost $4.8 million against the salary cap.
Bourne is a lock to make the team and is slotted to be the Cardinals' No. 3 receiver, playing mostly in the slot.
Now almost 31 years old, can he produce at the level the Cardinals need from their No. 3 receiver, although he will be No. 4 among pass catchers, as tight end Trey McBride is one of the top targets?
He will be a good influence in the locker room, but will he even be able to produce what he did last season for the 49ers?
