The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.
Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2025, questions they face and their roster outlook.
Here is outside linebacker Baron Browning.
Browning enters his sixth NFL season and third with the Cardinals. He was drafted in the third round in 2021 by the Denver Broncos. He was traded to the Cardinals in 2024 and then re-signed with them on a two-year contract. In 2025, he played in 15 games, starting seven, and had 34 total tackles, two sacks, four tackles for loss, five quarterback hits, an interception, a pass breakup and a fumble recovery.
He enters the second year of his two-year, $15 million contract. He is due almost $4.4 million in salary in 2026 and he received a $2 million roster bonus back in March. He will count more than $9.4 million against the salary cap.
Browning appears to be a lock to make the roster and will at least be a part of the defensive rotation. He will compete for a starting job. However, after a disappointing two-sack season in 2025, he needs to do more if he is going to get extended or re-signed.
