The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.
Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2025, questions they face and their roster outlook.
Here is offensive lineman Christian Jones.
Jones enters his third NFL season, all with the Cardinals. He was drafted out of Texas in the fifth round in 2024. He suffered preseason knee injuries in both 2024 and 2025, and he started the season on injured reserve. He played two games as a rookie, starting at right tackle in the season finale. He was activated from IR last year with four games to go. He was active but did not appear in two of the games, and he played six special teams snaps in the two games in which he appeared.
He enters the third year of his four-year rookie contract worth $4.3 million dollars. If he makes the final roster, he is due $1.075 million in salary and will count $1.15 million against the salary cap.
Jones has not made it to the regular season healthy yet. Can he come out of the preseason clean this year?
As for the roster, he is a long shot. Last year, he fell behind both Josh Fryar and Demontrey Jacobs in playing time. Both of those players return, and the Cardinals drafted Jayden Williams and signed Matt Pryor and Oli Udoh.
He will have to both stay healthy and take major strides forward if he is going to be more than one of the first cuts made.
