Who will be the Arizona Cardinals' first-round selection in the 2025 NFL draft? We will find out Thursday night as the draft begins at 5 p.m. Arizona time. We still have time for at least one more mock draft and what it says the Cardinals will do.
The latest is from NFL.com's Lance Zierlein, and it has a name that has emerged as one of the favorites to be their selection in the last couple of days.
He has the Cardinals taking Alabama guard Tyler Booker with the 16th pick in the draft.
Booker does fit the mold of the type of person the Cardinals want on their team, and his play on the field in college was impressive. However, his athletic testing proved to be barely above the minimum for the NFL, which leads one to wonder if he will move well enough to do the things the Cardinals ask their guards to do in space.
If the Cardinals are okay with his physical and athletic traits, it makes sense. He fills an immediate need at guard, he has the right personal and football character and comes from a big-time program.
Booker is one of the five players named to know for the Cardinals at No. 16.
We will find out if he is really their pick later tonight.

Arizona's hat-on-hat running game appears to covet force over finesse, and that's fine by Booker. He's a good guard but an even better team leader and culture setter.
