The Arizona Cardinals have done it. After having a 3-14 season in 2025, the most losses in franchise history, the team announced it parted ways with head coach Jonathan Gannon after three seasons.

In three seasons, Gannon went 15-36. The Cardinals lost their final nine games this past season and 14 of their final 15. They lost by three scores in six of their final nine losses.

General manager Monti Ossenfort remains in his position, and according to multiple reports, will lead the search for a new head coach.

Gannon had two years remaining on his contract.

His .294 winning percentage was the second-lowest of any Cardinals head coach and the worst of any coach to be in the job for more than one season. Steve Wilks, 3-13 in one season in 2018, had a .188 winning percentage. Dave McGinnis, head coach from 2000-2003, had a .298 winning percentage. The Cardinals went 0-5 under interim head coach Hank Kuhlmann in 1989 after firing Gene Stallings.

And now an offseason of questions and interviews begins.

Ossenfort and owner Michael Bidwill will address the media Monday at about noon Arizona time.
