The 2026 league year is coming next month. It officially begins on March 11, with the legal negotiating period beginning on March 9.
The Arizona Cardinals have many roster decisions to make before then.
Leading up to the new league year, we will profile every player on the roster, go over what they did last season, what their contract status is and what they face in 2026.
Next up is cornerback Will Johnson.
Johnson was a rookie in 2025. Considered a first-round talent and projected to go as high as the top 10, he fell to the Cardinals in the second round.
He battled through hip, back and knee injuries to play in 12 games. He had 37 tackles, 10 pass breakups and a forced fumble.
He at times looked fantastic like the shutdown cornerback many feel he will be, and looked disinterested at times, and he had ups and downs.
He is in Year 2 of his four-year contract. He will make a fully guaranteed almost $1.3 million in salary in 2026. He is signed through 2028.
Johnson is being counted on to be a No. 1 cornerback in 2026. He will be a starter and will be expected to be on the field basically every play he is healthy.
