Good stuff. I should just be able to drop it, but I think my frustration stems from past threads and it is getting channelled here. I just get frustrated by all of the excuses that are made up for players. Bad is bad. Just say "I don't want to hear facts, and I would rather have an uninformed opinion" and stop tying to be right.

Well larsen seems to have improved as a RG vs a LG and fanaika was marginal so I am happy with where we are and how the running lanes have been. lets keep building on that momentum.

You can go to all the practices and training camps in the world, but until you are playing in a live game, you are still a rookie.

How many times was Stanton/Lindley sacked? Hurried? Knocked Down?

How many yards did the Cards rush for?

So Aaron Rodgers was a rookie for 4 years? :p

All I can say is that if you are arguing against Chopper and K9 I sincerely hope you have actually taken the time that they have to break down every single play that he played in the last couple games.

Also I agree about the technique issues being linked to practice and the only thing that actual playing time will help correct is more so the mental errors that you make from having to make quick decisions.

Good, bad, improving, not improving, rookie, not a rookie, work ethic, no work ethic, in shape, out of shape, overweight, trim and slim, ugly, gorgeous.... whatever.

He's a disappointment, imho

actually, the ugly/gorgeous part was about K9:D

btw, I love this thread.

I think that the reflexive defensiveness about Cooper is more related to PTSD on Levi Brown than it is about people actually watching Cooper's play on the field. There are things about the limited exposure that I've had to Cooper's personality that remind me a ton of Levi Brown.

I think that the lizard brain of some posters are making that connection between Pro Bowl talent and No Heart and can't bear to think about it happening again.

EDIT: Just so we're clear--I am in no way saying that Cooper is playing like Levi Brown or making the prediction that Cooper will end up with a career similar to Levi Brown. I'm just saying that we have a highly drafted offensive lineman who was the first pick of a new staff and hasn't come out the door looking great for reasons that are more related to heart and preparation than skill.

right, but he just played 2 games as a starter,i m not impressed too about cooper, but maybe is more related to the fact he lost some condidence on himself after the injury.
at college he was one the leader of his team, and was lebeled as good leader with good work ethic

I have. My point has been that I didn't see as many instances of missed technique and bad footwork at this point, I'm rolling my eyes at how intense (and somewhat overreactive) the analysis of him has been. Additionally, if we were to chart a guy like Larsen, Sendlein, etc., both of whom have been somewhat frowned upon on this board, we might see similar instances of technique mishaps.

Where you and I agree is that he has work to do to be a great o-lineman; where we disagree is how he is going to get there and where he is currently.

Despite us having different opinions about his technique, I do appreciate you taking the time to evaluate his play, and appreciate the conversation.

I'm on vacation without much posting time, so I'll just agree with this. All of it, on every level. Including the appreciation of time put in on evaluation to all who have done so.

GOAT in every STL Home Game: Their crap turf.

How many injuries have they endured on that surface? Trent Green? Matt Leinart broke his collarbone there. Stanton hurt his knee. Bradford (every season, it seems). And that's just the QB's that come to mind in the last 15 years. I am sure there are plenty more.

I think they had FieldTurf installed like five years ago. Same stuff they have in Seattle and everywhere else in the NFL, I think.
