Are you not factoring in a different HC in this equation? That is akin to stating Oklahoma produces NFL QBs based on Baker, Kyler, Hurts when Lincoln Riley no longer coaches Oklahoma.

A different HC to what? Bama hasn't produced a great NFL QB for about 50 years.

What are the odds of the Cards, of all franchises, being the one to snap the streak?

I wouldn't normally put much stock in such things, but a top program like Alabama having such a poor streak suggests there is something in it.

I’ve been pretty consistent that you always try to construct the best team you can for the year ahead, because the NFL laughs at long-term plans.

I’d disagree we were non-competitive in-division last year. With Kyler we lost our first two division games by four total points.

Obviously with Brissett we never stood a chance against anyone, which is why it’s so confounding that professional football people on Hardy Drive and some here think that Jacoby Brissett can somehow keep things respectable.

A good season to build on next year would look like:

Going 1-5 in division
Going 2-2 against the NFC East
Going 1-3 against the AFC East
Going 2-1 against our last place, non-common opponents.

That would be something to build on for the year ahead, but I think the happy tank commanders here would be very upset if we got the 8th overall pick.
I don't think you've ever made a better statement in all of the years you've posted here.

I've been a believer in tanking in the past, but have done an about face because of comparing and contrasting the differences between the Rams and Cardinals. Tanking is dumb because it's hard to tell which draft is going to be really good in advance.

Eh Look at how Stroud has produced compared to the hot garbage Ohio State has sent to the league?

Hurts has been to 2 super bowls, won one, and I believe he was the mvp in one of them.

What on earth

Stroud is on the Kyler Murray career trajectory at the moment. I'm not sure that's a great selling point.

But just to be consistent, I also would not draft OSU quarterbacks unless they were absolutely clear 100% stud superstars in college. Zero warts, zero concerns.

Stroud has never had a losing record in the NFL (10 games over 500), is 3-3 in the playoffs and has missed 5 games in three seasons. He struggled at for a chunk of his sophomore season and still won 10 games, but rebounded nicely this past season.

That is an absolutely silly statement.

I can only imagine what you think is a good QB based on the above and your terrible Patrick Mahomes, and Hurts takes.

Yeah… wha? I’m confused. Where was Hurts drafted from if not Bama?
His last year was at OKU. Doesn't matter really it totally debunks the theory that Bama doesn't produce QBs the last 50 years.
Plus Jones went to Bama which Britt was clamoring for earlier this year as well.

Total bs posting.

Yeah the narrative is that stroud is bad because of his catastrophic playoff game but he had an above-average season.

Oklahoma obviously

The most frustrating thing for me is hearing people try to predict when you can compete and win games. You can't. Just try to win games and the competing will happen as a by-product of that.
Eh the reality is that predicting doesn’t matter. The players on the field are trying their best. If they compete they compete, even if it’s not in the best long term interest of the team to win.

Wins are not a QB stat.

Texans fans are talking about moving on. They think he's inconsistent and holding the team back. Hence the Murray career trajectory.
