Are the Boston Celtics falling behind other rivals in the NBA's Eastern Conference pecking order? It is hard to argue that the Celtics should be seen as above the New York Knicks given how their postseason ended. And despite how poorly the Sixers played against the Knicks in the 2026 East Semis, there is a case to be made that Philly has passed Boston as well.

The Detroit Pistons finished above them in the 2025-26 regular season standings and are still playing in the postseason, so it would be hard to say Boston is a better ball club. And despite a bad regular season campaign, the Cleveland Cavaliers are still playing ball, so does this mean that the Celtics are now the fifth-best team in the East?

The folks behind the "WEEI Boston Sports Original" YouTube channel put together a clip from their "Greg Hill Show" to talk it all over. Check it out below!
