Ahead of the Seahawks' Super Bowl 60 win, it was announced that the Paul G. Allen estate would put the franchise up for sale. And early reports were suggesting that two tech moguls could be involved in taking control of the Super Bowl champions.

According to a report from Front Office Sports, Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg and Apple CEO Tim Cook have been interested in purchasing the NFL franchise. While Zuckerberg has the estimated net worth ($206 billion) to buy the Seahawks outright, Cook — at a reported $2.9 billion net worth — would need investors to come on board.

But are the two billionaires actually interested in owning an NFL team? That's where uncertainty came in following the FOS article.

Journalist Dylan Byers was quick to call FOS out for the report, claiming that neither Zuckerberg nor Cook are entertaining a Seahawks bid.

This isn't true. Mark Zuckerberg and Tim Cook are not considering bids for the Seattle Seahawks, per sources close to both men. Period, full stop. https://t.co/1vvf9p0jkL

And Byers wasn't alone in that reporting. Kurt Wagner of Bloomberg also reported that Cook and Zuckerberg aren't interested in the Seahawks.

Shortly after the Bloomberg story went live, the FOS reporter behind the story tweeted that neither billionaire are interested in placing a bid on the Seahawks.

Update: a source close to Apple tells @FOS the rumor of Cook's interest in the Seahawks is "completely false."

Meanwhile, a Meta spokesperson told Bloomberg Mark Zuckerberg is not making a bid.

Spokespeople for both had ample opportunity to deny our report before it came out.

So, there you have it. The Seahawks will certainly have suitors, but just don't expect it to be Zuckerberg or Cook.
