The Seattle Seahawks are about to enter a new era of ownership. Following their triumph in Super Bowl LX over the New England Patriots, the Paul G. Allen estate announced they were officially putting the team up for sale. We knew this day would eventually come. When the late Paul Allen passed away, his will dictated all his assets were to be sold, which included the Seahawks and Portland Trail Blazers. Now, the question on everyone mind becomes... "who will buy the team?"

Perhaps we have an idea.

On Thursday morning, Front Office Sports announced there are four potential majority buyers expressing interest in purchasing the Seahawks. Of those four, two names are instantly recognizable. One is Meta founder/CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and the other is Apple CEO Tim Cook. Sources believe the Seahawks could be sold for somewhere in the neighborhood of $8-$11 billion, which would obliterate the record of $6.05 billion set by the Washington Commanders in 2023.

Obviously, Mark Zuckerberg would be able to foot that bill, as his net worth is an estimated $237 billion. Meanwhile, Tim Cook is a bit more "modest" with a net worth of "only" $2.9 billion. Presumably, if Cook were to put a bid in he would have to organize an ownership group, but I wouldn't say that's outside his skillset. Plus, he's stepping down as CEO of Apple in September... right around football season.

The opportunity to own an NFL franchise is not one that comes around all that often, especially one as stable/successful as the Seattle Seahawks. Whoever purchases the team will be inheriting a championship caliber roster, a fantastic stadium, the 13th largest media market in the country, and some of the most loyal fans in all of sports. Not to mention they are the only NFL team for six states, making them the only game in town!

Seahawks Wire will continue to monitor this situation closely, and report with any developments.
