With Quinn Ewers off to the NFL, the Arch Manning era at Texas is officially underway. But while buzz is already building around his long-term potential, fans and scouts may need to be patient.
Though some have projected Manning as a candidate to go No. 1 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, a new report suggests that timeline may be overly optimistic. According to ESPN’s Field Yates, teams visiting the Texas program are hearing something different.
Appearing on "The Adam Schefter Podcast", Yates revealed what scouts are reportedly being told by those inside the Longhorns program about Manning’s future.

“The word from people that have been down there visiting Texas for scouting visits has been that they expect Arch to be there for two more seasons,” Yates said. “Will that prevail? We’ll see, but that has been the sentiment that scouts have been gathering when they spend time around the Texas program this past season.”
The possibility of Manning returning for both the 2025 and 2026 college football seasons would shift draft plans for quarterback-needy NFL teams. But with his current NIL valuation at $6.5 million—and the potential to earn even more by staying another year—the financial pressure to leave early may not exist.
Of course, things can change quickly depending on performance, health, and Texas’ success. But for now, the message around the program seems clear: Manning isn’t in a rush.
