Appleton North 46, Hortonville 45​


HORTONVILLE – The Lightning erased a 10-point deficit in the second half to pull out the win on the road.

Avery Werfal made a pair of free throws with 2.5 seconds remaining that proved to be the deciding points. She led North (13-6, 9-6 Fox Valley Association) in scoring with 10 points along with Brooke Schuh.

The Polar Bears got off a desperation 3-point heave that fell short at the buzzer.

Morgan Mocadlo had 11 points to pace Hortonville (12-8, 10-5). Kardyn Peppler added 10.

KAUKAUNA – Andrew Jensen scored 24 points and had 20 rebounds to lead the Ghosts to the Fox Valley Association win over the Wildcats.

Jensen became the school’s all-time leader in rebounds.

Drew Bowers made six 3-pointers and added 18 points for Kaukauna. Josh Carl made five 3-pointers and finished with 17 points. Jonah Roehrig and Tyler Schwalbach both added 11 points.

Oshkosh West was led by Joey Ware with 16 points. Malakai Herlihy added 15 points.

NEENAH – The Rockets scored 49 points in the second half to pull away after leading the Patriots by four points at halftime in the Fox Valley Association contest.

Nick Schultz scored 18 points to lead Neenah, which improves to 13-6 overall. Kolton Fleege added 14 points, Jackson Rindt scored 12 and Xavier Bezares had 10.

WINNECONNE – Parker Ingles made seven 3-pointers and scored 27 points and Brody Schaffer added 23 as the Wolves built a big early lead and cruised to the win.

Also scoring in double figures for Winneconne were Cal Volp and Drew Lenz, both with 14 points.

The Wolves led by 18 at intermission before outscoring the Truckers 53-30 in the final 18 minutes.
